Sail with Sinbad Severn
Sinbad was designed by the yacht designer John Burgess as his own private yacht and also for charter. She was designed as the 72ft "Stornaway" and built in the East London Perry shipyard in 1972.
When I first saw Sinbad I fell in love with a classic boat that just wants to be out on the oceans. I invite you to join us on a wonderful adventure.

John's original brochure from the time describes Sinbad well:
"Into the build, layout and equipment of Sinbad Severn have gone a lot of thought and her owner's years of experience and knowledge of the charter business... The construction from steel and the installation of all the latest equipment & machinery, rigging & cooling systems etc. have been carried out to meet Lloyds A1 approval. Only the most up to date internationally accepted techniques have been used...
In fact "SINBAD SEVERN" is the outcome of several years of thinking about and planning the ideal charter sailing yacht, and provides virtually everything to ensure comfort and complete cruise enjoyment."
The present owners are doing everything they can to ensure that these design criteria are exceeded as they sensitively bring Sinbad up-to-date with the latest technology whilst retaining the soul of the boat, a boat designed & built at a time when reducing costs and build time were not the main drivers, and safety, performance, comfort and style were more important than production efficiency.
Sinbad will be heading off in 2024 on her trans-atlantic passage followed by her World ARC 2024 circumnavigation. If you wish to join us on our circumnavigation with the World ARC 2024, we have space for others on a shared cost basis, please do let us know ASAP as places are limited.
